Hello Friends!
Though it's been a while, we are officially back in action re van conversion. The van had a restorative 8-night sleepover at John's workshop and came back to us with flashy brake pads and only a LITTLE shudder of the engine when the engine switches off. It is really great. truly.

I am currently writing this in between waiting for coats of paint to dry, rocking the same dingy painting outfit for the fourth day in a row, and bits of paint in my hair, just a bit exhausted. After we got the van back from John, Emi and I have slaved away this week, and have cleaned, taped, cut, sawed, insulated and painted lots and lots of things.
Bunnings has now become our second home (see multiple photos from trips) and I kinda love it. No social or appearance expectations, it's totally okay if you turn up with paint on your face, butt, hair, you name it. The past two nights we've been caught scrambling our way through aisles in multiple stores whilst the 15-minute "courtesy call for customers" for closing was called over the loudspeaker.

Ummm that being said, last night we were seriously seriously stupid and naive, as we attempted to load the largest sheet size of MDF (above left) into my baby of a car (holden astra). I think it's safe to say it obviously didn't even come close to fitting. More than a few middle-aged men went "uh oh" or "ooh shit" as we tried to cram this thing in, both of us absolutely pissing it at 7 pm with the doors of Bunnings closing. Massive brain fade there and a bit of a hassle, but it was frickin hilarious to us. Flash forward to a quick trip this morning (through the city EEK) in the van this time, I have successfully collected the goods.

We also managed to settle on a floor but only to be told TWICE (at different stores), that what we wanted is either "discontinued" or "sold out". SO, we are waiting for our flooring from National Tiles to come as it's currently in Melbs.
Next up is wiring and setting up the electrics (lol), and bed frame making. Pray for us.
Till next time!
